Care and Concern
Prayer Network - Home Services - Transportation - Visitation - Bereavement A Care and Concern Ministry Volunteer is a person interested in the stewardship of good works but cannot afford the time to attend meetings or do the work required to maintain an organization. Care and Concern volunteers have an opportunity to select the type of service they would like to provide and the time to provide it without the necessity of attending meetings or maintaining the ministry. Volunteers are always welcome. Anyone wishing to volunteer for the ministry can do so by completing a blue volunteer commitment card found in the rear of the church. Completed cards can be dropped in the collection basket.
I was naked and you gave me clothing I was sick and you took care of me." (Matthew 25: 35-36)
The Care and Concern Ministry is a ministry of service in which parishioners volunteer, usually for a year at a time to help meet the social welfare needs of the parish community. A strong prayer base is the foundation. Ministry services and coordinators are:
Prayer Network This service recognizes the power of prayer by providing a mechanism to activate the parish prayer network for the special intentions of our parishioners. Prayer requests can be placed in the prayer basket in the rear of the church. Volunteers pray for intentions published weekly.
Home Services This service provides emergency home help to meet unexpected needs. Emergency food, laundry, cleaning, minor repairs and yard work. These services are offered free and on a short term basis for our parish community.
Transportation This service provides transportation to Mass, parish activities, medical appointments and shopping.
Visitation
Nursing Homes
Cards/Notes The above three services includes personal visits to parish homebound, monthly visits to friendship ridge, and cards of condolence and prayer to parishioners in need.
Bereavement No member of the parish community of St. Frances Cabrini will grieve alone.
Care and Concern is organized and directed by a steering committee composed of service coordinators and other interested parties. The steering committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 9:30 am in the rectory meeting room. The meetings are open to anyone interested in attending. Although volunteers are not required to attend any meetings, they are encouraged to attend the annual in-service program and welcome at any or all steering committee meetings. All services provided by ministry volunteers are free on an emergency and short term basis for our community. |
