Catechesis imparts the doctrine of the faith in a systematic way with the view of making disciples of all people. Parents, catechists and the whole church community are responsible for this task.

Religious Education/CCD is important for children to learn about our Catholic faith and gain knowledge about what we believe. St. Frances Cabrini Parish offers Religious Education/CCD classes for children, kindergarden through eighth grade. Religious Education/ CCD Classes meet during the school year, beginning in September and ending in May.

Volunteers are needed as catechists, team-teachers, aides, substitutes, office volunteers and special topic teachers (that rotate from classroom to classroom to teach Liturgy, Vocations, Catholic Vision of Love or Opening Doors Curriculum). Other Programs include:

  • Good Friday for Children is held during Holy Week. This program is focused on the life, death and resurrection of Christ in language easy for children to understand.

  • Vacation Bible School is held for two weeks during the summer (one week for ages 3 to 5 and another week for grades K-5).

  • Liturgy of the Word with children is a worship experience. It is not a new or different type of religious education. This liturgy is intended to inform children in ways that are understandable to them. Liturgy of the Word is held during the Sunday, Noon Mass, beginning in October and ending in May.

Religious Education/CCD news is publishes a bi-monthly newsletter and also publishes special events in the bulletin. The parish bulletin is available online.
