The Rosary Ladies are a spiritual devotion group that meets regularly to make rosaries for people in need around the world and to pray for our Blessed Mother's Intercession.

The Rosary Ladies meet every Thursday in Classroom 107 (the Cookie Room) from 10 am to 1 pm. We have met every week since 1986 and made over 40,000 rosaries for missionaries to distribute around the world.

Our supplies are ordered through Our Lady's Rosary Makers in Kentucky. A beginner's kit furnishes you with instructions, materials for 10 rosaries and a special pair of pliers. After a few lessons, you can make an entire rosary in less than an hour.

Each member of our group purchases their own materials (about 50¢ a rosary). Each Thursday afternoon concludes with praying the rosary.

Missions that have benefited by the rosaries made from our hands include the Ukraine, Sri Lanka, India, Uganda, Tanzania, Brazil, U.S. Armed Forces, U.S. Prisons, Russia and Poland.

"The Rosary of the Virgin Mary, which gradually took form in the second millennium under the guidance of the Spirit of God, is a prayer loved by countless Saints and encouraged by the Magisterium. Simple yet profound, it still remains, at the dawn of this third millennium, a prayer of great significance, destined to bring forth a harvest of holiness" - Pope John Paul II

The full text of our Holy Father's the Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae can be found at http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/john_paul_ii/apost_letters/documents/hf_jp-ii_apl_20021016_rosarium-virginis-mariae_en.html

The Rosary is made up of twenty "mysteries" (significant events or moments in the life of Jesus and Mary), which, following the Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae, are grouped into four series.

The first contains joyful mysteries (recited on Mondays and Saturdays); the second, the mysteries of light (Thursdays); the third, the sorrowful mysteries (Tuesdays and Fridays); and the fourth, the glorious mysteries (Wednesdays and Sundays).
