Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts offer children a great opportunity for socialization and pride in accomplishments. Children can earn recognition and religious awards and badges through their hard work in these organizations.

Cub Scouts are organized into packs that contain different dens that range from grades 1-5. Each den (grade) has a den leader. There are two packs in Center Township (Pack 423 and Pack 454). Scout meetings are typically one hour per week.

Boy Scouts (grades 6 until age 18) are organized into Troops which learn to function together to accomplish their tasks. Boy Scouts meet once a week to learn outdoor skills and to develop leadership roles. The boys are in charge of planning activities with adult oversight. The scouts participate in service projects to help others in the community, and they also work on fulfilling their duty to God and Country. They work on learning skills and rank advancements towards Scouting's highest honor, an Eagle Scout.

Girl Scout troops are divided into four levels: Daisies, Brownies, Junior Scouts and Girl Scouts. Girls from Kindergarten to 12th grade are welcome to participate. Meetings are typically biweekly from August through May. Activities are also available during the summer months. Day and resident camp opportunities are offered for the younger ages and group trips are offered for older ages. To contact the council directly for individual membership, call 724-774-3553 located at 443 Third St., Beaver, PA 15009.

St. Frances Cabrini is willing to sponsor any children that wish to earn Catholic religious awards and badges
